Bruno Troublé on the first European AMERICA'S CUP in 155 years.
A talk in aid of Kinsale & Crosshaven RNLI.
Friday,
November 24 at 12:30, 2006..
In advance of the America’s Cup – yachting’s ‘Holy Grail’ – being raced for
in Europe for the first time in 155 years, the RNLI have secured the
services of one of the key figures involved with the event, Mr. Bruno
Troublé, to be their guest speaker at the next RNLI Sailing ‘By The Lee’ Lunch in Cork on November 24.
Bruno Troublé is the creator of the Louis Vuitton Cup and has been
responsible for the communication and image of the America’s Cup since 1982.
He was also skipper of the French entries for the America’s Cup in 1977,
1980 and 1983.
In addition to his ‘insider’s view’ on the America’s Cup, Mr. Troublé’s
legal background and wealth of experience as a World Champion in 1981 and
Olympic yachtsman in 1968 and 1976, as Marketing Manager for Dufour yachts
and sailboards from 1975 to 1983, and co-organiser of the America’s Cup
Jubilee in Cowes in 2001 is sure to appeal to both a yachting and a business
audience.
The lunch will take place in the Leeside Bistro at the new four star Jury’s
Cork Hotel on the Western Road, Cork city at 1230 hrs. on November 24. The
restaurant has floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking the adjacent River
Lee and outside decking, where the Cork Dry Gin sponsored drinks reception
will be held.
The event is one of a series of lunches organised by the Kinsale and
Crosshaven branches of the RNLI. The concept is to invite prominent figures
in the international sailing scene to Cork as a fundraiser for the two
branches. Previous speakers were Ron Holland and Roy Disney.
