A Novel Idea at Kinsale Community School.

11-May-2007: Kinsale RNLI would like to thank all the teachers and pupils of Kinsale Community Schools involved in the recent "Gaisce" fundraising event which raised over €200 for the Kinsale Lifeboat. We would like to pay special thanks to Maeve. Mc Namara who organized the fundraising event.

It was called a "Novel Idea". The idea was to clear out old books and get
some new books for a bargain price

The GAISCE students advertised the event and collected good quality second
hand books from the various year groups in the school. They set up a
"bookshop" over two lunch breaks in one of the classrooms. The books went on
sale to students and staff at a nominal charge of two euro per book.

A big thankyou to people who donated books, gave their time, bought books
and supported the event in any way.

The G AISCE students fulfilled part of their community duty by helping out
with this event.
